Hello, my friends

I wonder if stans are slow growing orchids (like paphs, for ex) or fast ones (like oncidiums).

Single pseudobulbs struggling to survive, slow. Larger plants, fast.

Estación seca, thanks for the links.
In fact yesterday night I've read the first one but it is useful only for mature plants. I have ony two pbulbs and could never find any sites mentioning propagation in my conditions.
Anyway, I'm asking this because, since the new grow was detected, two weeks ago, now I have one leave aprox. 1,5 cm long (0,6 to 0,7 in).
My conditions are not ideal in summer due to low HR (20%) so I was wondering if it was growing at the expected rate. At night I put it in a transparent plastic box sprayed with water on the inside. I let it be during the night till noon, when I take it out of the box. The HR inside the box increases to 60%.

I will be out of town for a week so I moved it to a north faced window that meets the light requirements (bright light w/shade). Temps are the same as well as HR but no box. I got someone to water it every two/three days, depending on the temps (now we have been outside temps low 100's, that makes 82 F inside, and HR 15% min). This kind of weather that's something you know for sure so...
Do you think every two days would be enough to water it?

In my experience, Stans generally grow in spurts. They have a lot of growth in a short period of time, followed by periods with no growth at all.

Every two days should be fine. Tell them to be sure it is very wet when they are done watering, and they should not just sprinkle it lightly.

I bought a portable evaporative cooler, so the humidity in my growing space is usually around 70% now. It has made a huge difference to the plants. The device evaporates about 140 liters of water per day.
