To stake or not to stake ??
This is my CTSM I got from Fred during his dormant sale in Feb. Nice spike growing, but my question is, should I stake it up or let it grow down ? I know in all the pictures I have seen they hang down naturally, so I'm thinking I should let it go, but need some input. Thanks

I usually see them left naturally. They have strong stems because they tend to grow up in trees exposed to wind.

I'd let it grow on its own and see what happens. It might throw the pot off kilter when it fattens up. In which case I usually find an empty clay pot to throw mine in so they don't tip over.
Exciting, first bloomer? What's the cross?

It's name is Extravaganza breeding is Ctsm Louise Clark x Ctsm Karen Armstrong. Yes it will be a first bloom.

Not really, I'd have to move it from where it is, but I can put it in the front and then it could hang. I just wonder how far it will hang..........30 inches to the floor  |

This is exciting as we all await the blooms! Fred was just at our society for a talk, which was excellent. Sounds like it will be a wonderful cross. Can't wait to see it. I would stake mostly because I like the appearance of the flowers with the foliage. Keep us posted!
