I use a granular (dynamite)...I put it in the pots when I repot. This way it's there when I do start watering. I also give them regular strength (weak strength)liquid fert when I do everything else. Once the plants go outside they all get a stronger dose of fert each time I do it...about every other week. Honestly, when ctsm group are in active growth...I don't believe you can over-fert them. In previous years I did the liquid fert every week but time has been an issue this summer. Ctsm will do best w/high nutrients to help support the rapid growth.

FWIW - most of mine are now in straight sphag w/large orchiata in the bottom of the pots. They go outside for the summer and they are never allowed to dry out.

If I were to guess at your bud prob...it would be a lack of water issue. And maybe because they are young. More water, plenty of nutrients and time should solve the issue.

BTW - when I water, and the plant is big enough...I soak the entire plant. Leaves and all.

Almost forgot- temps and constant moisture will cause the granular to release quicker but these guys can use it.

Awesome flowers! Well worth the troubles.

To answer your question- I wish I did still have that cooperii! I gifted it to a friend/ member here as a going away present when he moved to Holland. Haven't heard from him since. Hope he and the plant are doing well

Dang! I guess I should have contacted you right when you posted that photo. lol

I have only seen one in person, which was a lot lighter in color than yours, with some olive green tone to the flowers.

Bascially, very dark version of this Cycnoches I posted on this thread, and lots of lots of flowers dangling down. It was such an awe-inspiring sight!
I almost wanted to take the whole thing and run. hahaha
