Stanhopea wardii pbulb propagation question
Hello, my friends
I got these pbulbs as a gift and I potted them one and a half months ago, more or less, and nothing happened so far.
The media is medium bark and leca (plus some traces of perlite).
The watering has been done with a syringe every two days, in the area around the pbulbs.
Temps and % has been around max. 28ºC (82 F) and 23ºC (73 F) min. % oscilates between low 30 and mid 40% (one of the reasons why I water it every two days). The pot sits in a south window, no direct sun, where I grow phals and catts.
I'm not sure if there's something not right...maybe temp is too high, I don't know. I can see tiny green roots but I think they're the ones that were already there. They show no signs of activity, don't die but also don't grow.
I would love some advise since this is a new genera to me.

They look fine. You're giving them everything else they need. Give them time.

That's good to know. I was affraid of the temps being too high. I was considering to put it in a north window with the same temps but, obviously, less light.

Yep, just give them more time. Also, these guys bloom by sending a spike down into the media and out the bottom of the pot. Does your pot have large holes at the bottom or is it a normal, clay pot?

I'm aware of the particularity of these plants. That is not a clay poy, it's plastic and it doesn't have any holes large enough for a spike to come out.
When I potted it, these pbulbs were inside of a plastic bag for more than 2 weeks, so an urgent potting was the priority...and I couldn't find a basket anywhere.
If this plant survives, when it's bigger I'll change into a suitable pot.

The only two additional things I could think of, would be to cover the pot with a plastic bag at night, then remove it during the day, so night humidity is higher; and treat weekly with a kelp product.

I believe I can't find kelp easily around here.
But I will try your bag sugestion... I always knew these vegetables plastic packages would be useful some day.
A layer of water at the bottom, and the pot with the dish inside...easy to assemble, and easy to disassemble. And it works great for sure.

I would not set a poorly rooted plant in a dish of water.

Ibelieve this was misunderstood due to my poor english...or you are joking.
I meant the pot saucer, it's inside the water but dry on the inside. The pot itself it's not in contact with the water layer.
