Default Many keikis on old pseudobulb

Greetings -
I am thorougly smitten with this plant group - they just don't looks like all the other orchids.
My concern is a hybrid of Clowesia x Catasetum - there are 4 older leafless p'bulbs, and the oldest has several small rooted keikis. It is summer here, so I hope/pray that this will bloom in the next few months on the newest growth...what's the best way to handle these little plantlets? I'm a bit leery of leaving them on during the dormant period, but don't want to shoot myself in the foot with regard to the upcoming budding and blooming.
Anyone experienced with these keikis? I'll listen to failure stories as well, they may save me from a terrible error!
Regards - Nancy (Cstm. splendens beginning to infloresce!)

If these Keikis are up higher on the p-bulb, you can detach them when the roots are about 2" long and pot them up. The leaves on the keikis should be fanning out about that time.

Nancy,

My recommendation is to leave the small offshoots on the bulbs alone for right now. When you break these off, even with nice root growth, you have a small area where it was attatched to the original bulb that is succeptible to some sort of infection. When in a medium, this open area on the new growth can pick up who-knows-what...

New growths tend to mature better if left on the stem longer, instead of being cut/broken off...
