My first Gongora flowers! A little flight of dragons, how cool!
I can't take any credit for these blooms; I got this plant as a birthday present from EFG. It already had the 2 spikes. It did drop a few buds from this (older) spike. It's mounted on something like a cedar shake.
Flowers have a pretty strong fragrance; I can smell them within about 6-8 feet. Not exactly a pleasant fragrance though not quite a stink; sort of sickly sweet like some kind of syrup.
I got a Gongora gratulabunda from Redlands last year; it's currently working on its third spike since I got it. First one buds dropped (just before opening!) when I was out of town several weeks and it didn't get watered. Second one I busted off moving it during a cold snap.
I have these plants over my rain cache for more humidity and try to make a point of drizzling them a little bit daily.
