If you can't find one, I would be happy to make note of it and when it is time to divide (probably a few years) contact you.

So true! I like the way you think!!
I got my Vasqueziella boliviana from that vendor, and aside from paying more than I should have (my fault, not his!) the experience was fine. And now I have a Vasqueziella boliviana!

I will put your name officially on "my list", I keep note of people who want divisions of my plants. My pictures are infrequent too; yours are always a treat when you post them. And you have lots of plants that are of interest to me!

I have gotten several things from him that were fine too, but once I got a plant that should not have been sent, IMO. Although, I didn't take issue because I know the chance I take when purchasing an import. I have no issue at all with the vendor, in fact I like what he offers and his prices, but I do like to throw a cautionary note out about what to expect when I have heard or read on a board more than a couple of people complain. I think that some hobbyists who are inexperienced to importing get surprised about the TLC an import may need.

I would not have given the vendors name if I didn't personally appreciate his plants, but since I have heard/read people complain I like to state all I know. I agree, like I said to Katrina, that he has some hard to find plants at great prices, but some need a little more TLC.

I completely understand your warning because it can be a bit shocking to someone unfamiliar with the process of importing an orchid and what to expect. I too usually warn newer growers so they are prepared. With the proper care those sometimes raggedy looking orchids will bounce back and do very well. Sometime not...but mostly they do.

Speaking of imports...I just picked up 7 new ones from Ecuagenera last night. Love getting imports because it's a chance to get orchids that aren't available or readily available in the US. I think it's worth the extra care needed to get them re-started.

I love Ecuagenera. I really wanted to go to the West Shore Orchid Society show, so that I could do some shopping, but I had too much going on last weekend. What plants did you get?

I love them too! I have gotten a fair number of plants from them over the years.

We were lucky to have Ivan as the speaker at our OS meeting last night and I did a small pre-order in prep of this visit. I ordered of a couple of Trichopilia - aenigma and laxa - and I ordered a couple of the B nodosa x C violacea seedlings. And then at the meeting, he had soooooo many plants that, naturally, I couldn't NOT do a little more shopping. I chose a really interesting cross of C luteola x Soph coccinea 'Yellow', and a C sincorana and, lastly, I grabbed up the last Den victoriae x Den laevifolium.

I don't have a lot of hybrid catts anymore but those crosses really appealed to me. The den cross should be gorgeous - same coloring as vic-reg but w/a more upright growth habit and it'll stay on the compact side.

Thanks for asking...and now, I'm off to get them all potted up.

BTW - bummer that you couldn't make the WS show...I heard it was excellent. I've yet to make it up there but one of these days I will.

Wow! You got some great stuff! I look forward to the pictures in the future, especially the Den cross!

Yea, I'm very pleased...and excited to see the future blooms. And, like you, especially w/the den. Getting those beautiful violet-blue flowers on a compact-ish, upright plant w/those purple-y canes - WOW! Ecuagenera always has some of THE coolest plants!
