Mormodes Mark Mills
This one also bloomed in October. Now, it is heading into dormancy, leaves are getting ratty and popped another spike. (I pretty much stopped watering it about a month ago) This one is Morm. Jumbo Bacia 'SVO' AM/AOS x Morm. Virgen del Valle 'Red & Burgundy' (One of Fred Clarke's hybrids)

Very nice Roberta. There are some nice clones of this cross. Is it easy to grow? I hear some Mormodes can be difficult.

My batting average for the Catasetinae is only fair-to-middling, but this one seems to be one of the easier ones. (At least, it has performed quite nicely for me) I had it for three years, and it has been growing well. Having had some lovely things DIMP, I am grateful for this one.

I have this one too! Very nice!
I'm not typically a fan of the very dark ones but the two-tone effect of this bloom is really attractive. Plus, the hairs are cool. And who doesn't love the strange twisty blooms of a mormodes? It's a winner for sure.
Good job w/growing it and for getting such nice pics.

Thanks, all! These dark ones are a bit tricky to photograph... backdrop of blue fleece worked better for me than my usual black.

Thanks! Nothing yet this year, but most of my Catasetinae are being really slow going into dormancy. I have tried keeping them outside for the growing season, p-bulbs are much bigger, but not much in the way of flowers yet on most. Nights cooling off... just about time to bring them in, maybe the change will trigger some action.
