Default Cycnoches Chlorochilon

This guy is Really late this season. (Yes, it is a guy. ) It usually blooms around October for me. To me, it is still one of the most fascinating flowers around. And I love the scent, especially in the morning.

I'm sorta taking a liking to green flowers. This is really nice, but clearly too big for my conditions. Great picture, though.

Bear with me as Im still learning, but what family would your orchid belong to?

Thanks all. Scents can be really hard to describe, but to me it is sort of soft lilac with a hint of citrus and spice.
It is in the Catasetum subtribe, if that helps at all.

Hi Kim,

how easy/difficult is Cycnoches chlorochilon for you? I know this species from my home country where they grow wild (on the big trees in the farm of my parents ) I love them... great plants!! but for some reason I have been a bit "afraid" of giving it a try here (don't ask me why... I grow Cycnoches haagei, as well as some Cycnodes and Catasetum here)

Ramon, you shouldn't have a problem with this one. It is one of the easiest orchids I have. I have it with my catts, and feed and water the bejesus out of it when in full growth mode. It must be awesome to see these guys 'au natural'!

Very Nice! I bought one of these this past year. I too love the color and the scent, but then I am into the unusual!
