Catasetum Orchidglade Davie Ranches bloom
I've had this for 2 years now. It bloomed last year, but I was traveling and missed it. I almost missed it again this year, but the blooms lasted about 3 weeks, so I got a chance to see it.
It has 5 pbulbs now. I'm waffling between splitting it in two when new growth appears next or leaving it as is. I suppose I have a lot of time to think about it

I am glad you had a chance to get to see this one, I would have been upset if I missed this for the second time

Lovely flowers....you may separate them if you like but growing it into a large specimen will produce more spikes in the future.

Fantastic blooms. I wouldn't split it yet, just think of the show next year.

Same plant, a year later. A second spike is just starting. Every year I am surprised by how large the flowers are on this one. They will open a little more, and I'll post again, though I quite like them at this point.

Awesome classic catasetum clone! Still relevant today, I saw Fred used this in many of his newest crosses. 2-5 back bulbs is a good rule of thumb. If you ever need someone to house a division for you I'd be happy to make the space
