Cyrtopodium andersonii

In the subtribe Catasetinae, so I put it in this forum.
Some of you may have seen giant Cyrtopodiums in Florida, and andersonii is the widespead type species and can be found epiphytic with huge root nests or also lithophytic or as a terrestial. I believe the glue from the pbulbs was used by ancient natives. More beautiful species are endemic as terrestrials to the Central Plateau of Brazil, but not popular here in orchid collections.
I had a big plant for many years which grew ridicously easy. Then it struggled and died, eventually by a lack of nutrients. So this is my substitute, still a young plant.
Flowers are strongly and pleasantly fragrant.

Good question. My last plant was potted in a mix for epiphytes, that means based on fir bark.
Now I also grow Cyrtopodium holstii, and I potted both species in a mix more adapted for terrestrials, also with bark, but combined with quarzite sand, clay pellets, pumice, and a bit of potting soil.
Its too early to tell you if this is a better choice.
