Ctsm Rebecca Northen 'Pink Fragrance'
FINALLY!!!
This was one of the first little seedlings I bought when I started my addiction close to three years ago! She came very close to hitting the trash bin...and then out of nowhere, started showing signs of life!
The fragrance is very citrusy and wonderful!
I wish we had smellevision
Marty, can't you do something about that?

How interesting, Sue. It doesn't look like your typical orchid at all. What is Ctsm.? Do you grow it like a Catt?
The color is amazing and that lip is so charming! This is the first for me on this one. Three years, too! You must be an orchid saint. Kudos Sue! kiki

Ctsm stands for Catasetum...but..."they" have gone and changed the name!
It's now:
Clowesia Rebecca Northen
(Clowesia Grace Dunn x Clowesia rosea)

Hi Susanne,
I was searching RHS just now, 'cause it seemed a Clowesia for me! Another "Rebecca Northen" is a Clowenoches (Clowesia rosea x Cycnoches chlorochilon), but your plant doesn't looks like a Cycnoches, I guess it's a pure Clowesia!
Congrats, nice color!

actually, they were separated from the Catasetum genus a long ago, based on the fact that their flowers are hermaphrodites... with nomenclature is always a challenge, the ones changing the names every second day and the others being reticent to change and adopt new ones... That's why you normally find this plant under both Catasetum and Clowesia
Yours is gorgeous, Sue!! Love the very strong presence of Clowesia rosea in it They, like all Catasetinae are wonderfull plants, and can make a very impressive display if well grown...
