While I do fully understand your not wanting to hurt her feelings, I would still say something to her -- in this case, as an FYI to her particularly if she was unaware that it was a heat lamp. Randomly putting things near a heat lamp could wind up being a fire hazard. Also if you have any other heat lamps around, point those out to her as well.

She sees them there so she knows they are there. They are 4 plus feet away from the actual tank/ table she just did not realize it was a shade only plant like my bleeding hearts plant. I told her it has to be around that space or else it will get sick. She said okay.

She just thought it was like my cycnodes and catasetum. I have who likes bright light. But she is also a black thumb...so really she has no idea about plants. That skipped a generation from my nana and all to me. My sister is the same way....
