Maybe it's not all gone. These plants are pretty strong!

BTW, I read some things about Texas on Wikipedia in the while. If you are in the northern area, yes, it's cold
Also here where I live now in Italy, it's snowing now but last time was 3 years ago and then 7 years ago.

I'm the Central region so its always a toss up of whether we get cold and snow or not. Dallas and Fort Worth is 2.5 hours away from us and last year they got like 2 inches of snow last year and we got.....maybe 1 and the rest was ICE. Oy vay. I don't miss that nasty stuff. I really hope we get by with out it this year. I am at my internship there (DFW) and any snow days we get I have to make up on another day....which is not very easy if they are still frozen. AUGH! lol. Wow 3 years... honestly I wish we get another 3 years or more of no snow. Even though I am sure there are some high school students who wish we DO!

I came home to heart break today.....my mom who is staying with me until her house is done being
repaired.... She was moving stuff around and set my macrantha almost completely under my tortoises large heat lamp, his main heat lamp actually (150 watts my guess it was there at least....6 hours).....uh oh.....now I have some serious yellowed leaves and a REALLY dead spike. Boo. But I did not say a word I don't want to hurt her feelings. So I chopped the spike and New growth that was torched... I cleaned it out and found itty bitty bugs!!!! Ugh!!! So a de bugging I will go.....I'm not quite sure it will fit in the 6 inch vanda box I have! It's got serious roots in there.

Nope it was to big and did not fit in my vanda box. So looks like I will have to get an 8 inch box. If the leaves die off will it be okay? Half of the leaves are now banana yellow.

Looking at your intermediate picture of your plant, the leaves looked like they were browning and dying anyway, so I'm not sure it was entirely your mother's fault. As a separate point I never buy mail order plants in the winter as there is no guarantee that they will not be cold damaged even with a heat pack.

Well I wondered about that's as well. There was a few leaves that had some yellowing. But they are banana yellow today. I mainly reordered this one bc it replaces one I got that was severely infected. And this is the first one I have ever found in a year.
