Default Mormodia Leopard Drops

This is an awarded division I got from Brent Baker last year sometime, 'Priscilla's Pink Panther' AM/AOS. It bloomed with 56 flowers on 3 spikes, not bad for a first bloom division! In other news, it's also pregnant! I've got myself a plan. Pretty solid

1. Keep alive long enough to make some seed
2. Harvest seed
3. ?
4. Babies in flask!

Ok here it is

Thanks for looking

Thanks everyone. It is a special plant to me, one of very few I have left. The scent fills the house with a blend of peppermint, eucalyptus, and a hint of sweet citrus.

Actually the selfings didn't take, I was bummed about that. But I did manage to cross it with this, 3 pods going.

The cross looks promising. I have a special eye on your success as my Mormodia neither accepted pollen of Clowesia nor Catasetum.

Beautiful.
Mine was a small non blooming size, could not keep it happy and it died. I did not overwater though.

So how did you grow yours- water/sunlight/potting media ?

I will most definitely post updates. I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much. I know this type of breeding is extremely finicky. I've only overcome the first of many hurdles. Now to see if any viable seed germinates...

I grew this one in Coconut husk chips/ charcoal/ perilite this year. I'm getting away from it though due to too much degradation of the media. Next year will be sphagnum/ Orchiata/ perilite, tight fitting pot. Water when it approaches dryness, sometimes every other day. Fed with K-Lite fert from Ray 1/4 tsp almost every watering, Kelp extract every few weeks, flush pot every few weeks, foliar feed w/ ammonical and urea derrived N (20-20-20 NPK) every couple weeks. Temps in the high 80s daytime/ low 70s nighttime during active growing, dips into low 60s to induce dormancy. I grow under 400w HPS light year round, top of leaves about 2' away. Try to maintain 50-80% humidity. Hope this helps.
