The fragrance is really one of a kind and can't be described clearly. Its sweet, but has a medicinal scent to it. For you stanhopea growers out there, its like Stan. wardii and Coryanthes macrantha had a baby together. That's how it smells.

Not really, but all of them grow near the surface diagonally down, a little like Coryanthes.
