My first Stanhopea (online ordered) blooms once again. Another spike is coming out, so hopefully I can take pictures of that one with the new camera I'm getting next week. Care info and descriptions can be found in my showcase page.

It is quite sedate for a stanhopea. Really beautiful. How is the scent?

The fragrance is really one of a kind and can't be described clearly. Its sweet, but has a medicinal scent to it. For you stanhopea growers out there, its like Stan. wardii and Coryanthes macrantha had a baby together. That's how it smells.

Not really, but all of them grow near the surface diagonally down, a little like Coryanthes.

This is its second spike that bloomed about a week ago. The pictures are taken with my new nikon 3300.
