Default Saved catesetum.

This is a long story. Some of you may recall I posted several months back about a catesetum (I suspected it was one) which I had to rescue and had not produced any pseudobulbs and advised me to be patient. Eventually, not one but three pseudobulbs popped up! One is still in the growing phase and the other two produced long inflorescence. The first with three blooms opened today and I can finally identify the plant which my husband had acquired a few years back and I hadn't seen bloom!!

More blooms coming from this pileatum. Haha. And it means I can give the other pileatum (my profile photo) away !

I am by no means an expert, but it does look like Ctsm pileatum Oro Verde to me.
Great plant and beautiful flowers! Congratulations!!!

PS: here's my Ctsm pileatum Oro Verde for comparison. Imho they look quite alike

Default Saved catesetum.

I think it's called Oro Verde. Ching Hua brought them in SGF 2010, I bought one from them but it always blooms female.

How do you get male flowers?

If its a small to medium sized plant, then you give it shadier conditions to get male flowers. If its a large plant, then there isn't much you can do to get male flowers except divide it.
