I bought my Stanhopea Grandiflora at a show last spring. We got several new leaves over the summer and now it looks like it's going into bloom again....here's a picture of what I think is the bloom "spike" - since these usually bloom from beneath, I'm hoping someone can confirm (or blow my buzz)

Hmmmm..... I dunno. The picture is pretty small. I was tricked by my nigroviolacea a month or two ago, so Im a little gun shy on calling it a spike. Do have any more pics??
Yes, that looks like a spike to me. It looks like it does because it was growing horizontally and then came up against the side of its pot, snaking around to find a way out (some spikes frequently grow sideways and then go down). It will probably start heading south soon. Just be careful with it now that you've found it. And congratulations! Please post some photos when it flowers.
There are now 2 spikes on my stan grandiflora!!! The first one is starting to point downward a little and the second spkie is heading north as the first one did...
