The person you got it from possibly got it from someone/somewhere else. It's not an uncommon practice.
Usual bloom time for both parents is fall/winter but I have (on a few occasions) see them in bloom as late as March/April. Never June though. Then again, orchids don't always follow the rules.
It might head into dormancy after it's done blooming. Let the leaves dictate the culture. If they start to go..follow suit w/the appropriate watering schedule. Nearly every year I order at least a couple of Ctsm in from S America and it can take a year or two to get them fully adjusted to a N. hemisphere schedule. Not a big deal...just have to pay a little more attention to things until they get adjusted.
BTW - my herrenhusanum (one of the parents) always blooms in Nov/Dec. Cute little thing!
