I already have a barthiorum and a 'robert dickow' (haagi x warcewiczii). I'd like to add 6 more cycnoches to my collection, any suggestions on other species or crosses? Sunset Valley seems to have some interesting offerings but I have no idea what they will look like.

Thanks-MR

Fred Clarke (SVO) usually has photos of his plants. Of course, new crosses are anyone's guess but take a chance!

Im a huge fan of Cyc William Clarke (herrenhusanum x barthiorum) and Jean E Monnier (barthiorum x cooperi). I have pics of both of these hybrids in my gallery if you want to see what they look like. As far as species go, I like barthiorum (a lot!!), cooperi, warcewiczii (i probably spelt that wrong) and herrenhusanum. The care for all these guys are pretty identical. I hope this helps!!

Your Susan Fuchs is AMAZING. Any more info on it? Was it hard to cultivate?

I have to say....no. Thats only because I picked it up in bloom this fall at the Honolulu Orchid Show. Now that its dormant its even easier to keep! I got it from H&R Orchids (easily my favorite nursery), here on Oahu. Those guys have several cycnoches and catasetum hybrids on their list and several in the back, if you ask! In fact, Ive gotten the vast majority of my Catasetinae (and Cattleya!) critters from them. I cant say enough great things about their establishment, so I wont. Enjoy!
