To be on the safe side, remove the dried bracts on all of the pbulbs. The yellowing on the one pbulb could be the scale sucking the life out of it.

Scale loves to live under the dried bracts and then send the babies out to find other places to live. With an infestation that severe I would also use a toothbrush to remove as much as possible.

I had removed the bracts to ensure that there was nothing under them - they are really needle-sharp at the top. I should have used tweezers..
Funny you should mention the toothbrush..........I used an electric toothbrush as an experiment, regularly dipped in alcohol, and it worked perfectly. I was about to throw the head away anyway !


and I found some the plant clips I bought last year. I am going to hang all of my Cats on a tree limb. I will post a photo when done.

That is actually quite a smart thing to do with old worn out electric toothbrush heads. I like it! Talk about re purposing something! From teeth cleaner to pest extractor.
