Ok, I MUST admit, I love all my orchids, but this is truly something special. I got this plant bare root the end of January at the Tamiami show, import from Peruflora. It was nice looking healthy plant, but I did expect to take months to even establish new roots. In 2 months, I have roots all over the basket I did pot it in, there is 5 new growths and this spike just opened today! There MAY be another one or another growth. THE SMELL IS JUST AMAZING, I was watering, the whole balcony smells like field of freesia flowers! It was completely closed yesterday midnight, I wish I knew it will open overnight, I would not even go sleep and would be taking pics in the process! I do add fresh lemon juice to water from time to time, and let all the ants live inside the pot, since this baby live in symbiotic relationship with them in nature. Shade, hot temperatures, fertilizing regular, and keeping it on the moist side! Enjoy!

Tommy, that's fabulous. I'll have to stop clicking on your threads because you keep giving me plants to add to my list!

Beautiful exotic flower. That is a large bloom compared to the palm of your hand. The colors and form is typical of the specie....the plant likes your environment to easily grow and flower.

Many thanks Bud, It would be great if the bloom would last longer, but I am very happy, let's hope for at least few days!

@TOMMYMIAMI I can imagine a plant like this would love the balconies of florida. Any bee activity that you have seen.
