Peruvian species : Gongora Sanderiana Male
Default Peruvian species : Gongora Sanderiana

this form is all yellow, Very very few spots on the flowers, hard to notice looking at the flowers from the front.

Plant came from Peru, the one besides was a Dark colored one, this one was not blooming , i bought it thinking that this was the same clone, it turned out to be yellow.

easy to grow, large sized flowers compared to other Gongora's,

as for the flower size ... just below is the bulbophylum lowii. this is the largest flower gongora in my plant collection.

Looks great! It appears to be related to Gong. escobariana which is one of the most strongly scented orchids I've grown. Is this one also amazingly fragrant?

One of the most beautiful Gongoras, but not the easiest for me. I had grown my plant mounted, and the winters were too cold. Happily I was able to save a small bulb from a final goodbye. Now since two years it is slowly recovering from a near-death-experience. I grow it potted in a plastic pot with bark mix now, with constant watering and fertilizing and intermediate to warm temps.
I exspect two more years to blooming size. In the meantime I enjoy your lovely plant.
