S. hernandezii in flower
Hi Steve
Just small polystyrene or bean bag balls. Helps with aeration. The mix has small bark, Sphagnum moss, some charcoal and medium perlite.
Works ok for me in Melbourne AU but try to keep most of them fairly dry through the cold wet winter.
The challenge is keeping them cool during the hot dry summer. We had several days around 46C this year so leaves and some bulbs have been obliterated.
Cheers
John

Really beautiful blooms, John. One of my favorite stanhopea species.
