Found the tag-
Cycd. Taiwan Gold 'Orchis'

It has a budding keiki that is starting to grow.No roots/leaves yet though. I misted it couple of times. And it is getting lot of air circulation and some indirect light in patio. Seems OK so far.

I understand, not supposed to water till it has decent roots so I am trying to ignore it best I can.

I grew all my Catasetinae in Hawaii using wine corks stuffed into a pot, topped with about a half inch of spag. The pots had large holes cut in the side and they got watered everyday. This group can be potted in just about anything, so large grade bark would be the easiest to describe to you. There are people who swear by some VERY complicated media mixes though, so I'd keep it simple while you're just learning what works for this group in your conditions.

Golden Shower is most definitely Cycnoches, not Cycnodes. I see some vendors pushing the wrong genus name on this one, including Orchid Web by Orchids Limited. I hate it when this happens because then a whole lot of people get confused with an already confusing group! Its especially frustrating when large vendors do because they should know better.

When there is a disagreement, it doesn't have to be hostile. People who get offended too easily just need to grow up.

By the way, my tag said cycnodes, so how would I have known? lol

I just looked up on RHS website and it is indeed cycnoches. The both parents used for making this hybrid are cycnoches.

Now I know!

I just picked up 4 plants w/the tags saying "Cycd. Golden Shower 'HO#1'. Should I retag them?

I also need some cultural help. They have no leaves but are starting to put out new growth and also seem to have flower bumps. I would post a pic but don't see an add photo icon. Thanks in advance for all your advice.

Yes, the tag is wrong as the abbreviation of cycd is for cycnodes, but this plant is cycnoches.

Regarding culture, Give the plant strong light and lots of watering while growing, then after the flowering in the fall, let it dry out until the new shoots emerges in the winter or spring. Do not keep the plant bone dry though. When you see the older canes show some wrinkles, water it.

My cycnoches Golden Shower is growing fast. The new shoot that appeared in late winter is now over 10 in tall with 8 leaves showing. yay!!!

I hope to have a wonderful fragrant yellow flower show in the fall.

For whatever twisted reason you got a mislabeled tag....but don't fret....as Steve suggested; just go to Sunset Valley Orchids site and read their culture on Catasetinae.

*wait until your plant is at least five inches tall before you repot and resume fertilizer and water regimen....if it is too little it might rot if you wet it often....but bright warm humid environment is good.

You are correct; this is what should be in the tag for now:
Cycd. Taiwan Gold 'Orchis'
parents are: (Cycnoches chlorochilon x Mormodes badia - Orchis Flor. 17/5/2004)
produces strongly fragrant inflorescences of waxy cobalt yellow corn eared-coloured flowers. This is a specialist hobbyist plant. If you are going to give Catasetinae a try, remember to keep them 'warm' and give lots of light (more than cattleyas). I grow mine out on the fire escape in direct sun now that frost is over.
An Australian grower won the prestigious Grand Champion award at the 2011 20th World Orchid Conference held in Singapore, that’s when the genealogy of Cycd. Taiwan Gold has come under some scrutiny. A grower from Taiwan filed an objection.
