green Fdk. After Dark
Last year I purchased a Fdk. After Dark blooming sized seedling from SVO. Well it has bloomed and the flower is entirely green. Does anyone know anything about a green flowered after dark? Is it unusual?

I know there are some that are sold as yellow After Dark plants so maybe your green flowers will yellow with age. Seems to be some fairly light flowered plants and dark flowered plants from this cross...very neat!

Very nice! Yours is part of the .1% of plants that didn't bloom out spotted red or black. This is very lucky, and if you don't like it I'd gladly trade you for my black pearl!

I like that one a lot. I have two seedlings from the remake that should bloom soon. Maybe I'll get one this color too.

Among awarded Fdk. After Dark, some have been noted as green flowers with maroon to black markings, and I have seen pictures of a clone called 'Morning After' with yellow/green flowers with very limited burgundy markings and shading, but none solid dark green. I'd say you have a rare and possibly valuable plant. I'd bet there are any number of Catasetinae collectors who would trade all their dark and spotted After Darks for your green one. Thanks for posting.

I would let Fred Clarke know and discuss it with him.

While I prefer the really ,really dark "After Dark"s, I would agree with the others. One such as this could very well be a valuable, sought after variety by collectors. Could definitely be worth holding on to. If there is an AOS judging center within driving distance, you might even consider taking it in to see what the judges think.
