Mormodia Painted Desert
When compared to its parents Clowesia Grace Dunn and Mormodes sinuata, there is an improvement in the willingness to grow. But I don't think that the flower quality has improved. In fact I am a bit disappointed that the flowers don't fully open. I actually consider if it's worth for breeding the next step. Would like to know what you think.

Looks like this one got more influence from the Clowesia parent. I wonder if its siblings look like this or if you just happened to get a very cupped version of this cross.

It happened last year and now again. I googled and found photos of other plants, that were bought from the same source as mine, and they are also cupped.

I love the color and stripes on sepals!
If you cross it back to a Clowesia you could get some fantastic red Clowesia-like flowers, with frills and all !?!

Clowesia rosea is often dominant, but I thought of Ctsm. expansum or incurvum pollen.
