Peristeria pendula
I grow this plant since March. When I saw 4 spikes developing a total of 30 round balls, who later turned dappled, I became curious like a child at Christmas eve.
Now the flowers have opened. I haven't yet smelled the reported strong citric fragrane.
Dove orchids (=Peristerias) are found in Central and South America in intermediate humid climates. They undergo a winter rest. I grow them along with my Lycastes and Trichopilias.
I confess I am fascinated by this unusual plant.
