That could work! Just pay attention to the bulbs in case they object. lol

So even when they go dormant, you want the pb plump?

Like Euplusia, I like it to stay plump. However, a little shriveling is ok for me. You should never see significant shriveling.

The best part is that the fragrance stays on all day and night!

It shines like gold in the sun light! I love this plant!
Please don't rot on me.
Oh man, what a beauty!!!!

If only they lasted longer in bloom.
It has been out of bloom for a while now, but all the leaves are intact and green.

There was slight drying tip on one of the leaves, but it stopped.
It does have sleeping eyes along the node, and I keep wishing it would sprout and flower again but it won't. lol

I got one of these in spike at our Society Auction. I wondered why the pbulbs were raised out of the mix - until I read about the tendency to rot. Makes sense now.

I am curious NYC - did you get yours to grow this year ?

It did send up a new growth, which grew big fast until the base of the new growth rotted out.
I tossed the plant.
It was such a pity because the new growth had 8 leaves!!!

I totally lost an appetite for this group of orchids now. lol
It is unique, but the flower life is also too short for me. So after this traumatic experience, I am done with them.

I hope yours do well for you.
I remember it had nice fragrance.
