Now it has been open for a few days.
It smells like naphthalene with a little bit of banana (or some kind of fruit).
The first couple days after opening, it was more on the chemical smell that I did not like too much of, then now it has more of fruity scent.
The best part is that the fragrance stays on all day and night!
It shines like gold in the sun light! I love this plant!
Please don't rot on me.
WOW! you have a wonderful display....
Relax, Harold....your plant will not rot.
It looks very healthy and you must have given this bright light for the leaves are still intact and green while in bloom....other plants would of yellowed and withered leaves by now....
give it proper winter rest; follow the SVO culture....you will never go wrong= we both have the same grow zone ....I have several Catasetinae; for the past four years, I have learned the intricacies
of growing these like a science....
I've been away in holidays for only two weeks. A neighbour took over the demanding task of watering my plants, and carried it out very well. Out of 300 Catasetinae only one plant troubled. It is Golden Showers, who suffered from low temps and overwatering by getting rot at the base of the new lead.
