This is probably one of the largest flowering Stanhopeas, very thick texture and by far one of the sweetest smelling Stanhopeas, no medicinal undertones like others, just a sweet, honey smell.

This is really cool. I've never heard of this species. Is it new or am I just out of the loop? lol

I like this species. It always gives me the impression of the hypochile being carved from wax.

This is not that new of a species, it was described in 1899. It is another species that is native to Mexico and Rudolph Jenny describes the form shown as S. intermedia while a more yellow form has been described as S. novogaliciana. Jenny seems to think they are both forms of S. intermedia.
