One of my two Stanhopea is now blooming, very waxy flowers and strong scent of vanilla.

Wow! That is absolutely gorgeous!! Thanks for sharing!

...is this one you would recommend to someone who has never grown these types (and someone who grows mostly Phals)? I really like this one, and I'd like to get one or two more Stanhopeas, if I can grow them! Maybe more, if they like me lol

Those are fantastic, Massimo. And your plant looks like it's doing very well in the basket. That vanilla scent is wonderful, isn't it? My plant of this species appears to have decided to take a summer-long siesta. It hasn't done anything since last year--no blooms, no new growths, etc. It appears to be quite healthy, so I assume it's just being lazy this year. Congratulations on your flowers.
