Well, my plants will get ONLY whatever cold front will pass by here in Florida. I will try to be ready and HELP them as I heard some profi growers do, set up pans with ice when cold front passes and place these in need of temperature droops on them during the cold front, so hopefully it will help them at least little bit with blooming in the spring. I do this drill every day for my masdevallia and it seems like it loves it, even when growing outside here in Florida, it does not seem like it has any high temp stress and grows very well.

Should have it end of September. You are lucky to have it with bud:-) I paid though really only less than $15 for mine, so I got it in great price anyway. I will post pics of all the babies in that big order that arrives end of september, some 20 orchids, great mix, mini's also, vandas, you'll see. The only issue is, it may come when I am in California, so I hope it will be really only day or 2 extra in the box inside the apartment though. My hubby already told me to COLOR STICKER for him all plants by needed watering schedule, but I do not want to ask him to unpack the box - not that he would not do it, BUT he has no clue how careful you must be and also, it is like x-mas to do it for me!

Yay, Tommy!! Congrats on having 2 spikes!!
I bought mine last January and the buds blasted upon arrival, I was so bummed because the vendor said that it wouldn't spike until the following year! Guess what? He was wrong, I checked today and I also have a spike pushing out!

AWESOME!!! I got mine from Seattle orchids in July, I was not sure if the plan did bloom already or no, so I was not even expecting anything this year:-) This is always great, when you have a spike, and when you have 2, even better. My cattleya is pushing new spike as well, and it hs already one opened for like 3 weeks, and my Bulbophyllum opened the first bloom today, and another spike is there so it starts to be FUN for me at my balcony, plus building that hygrolon cylinder, everything keeps me real busy. I will take pics of Bulbo t'nite and post later:-)

CONGRATULATIONS TOMMY !!!!
your plant is going to bloom soon!
How exciting for you to have two spikes....
*for caring for these kind of plants and its culture; you can go to SVO (Sunset Valley Orchids) site. Fred Clarke, is an expert on this kinds of plants. I have purchased most of my Catasetinae from him.
