First spike on a Catasetum!
WOOHOOOOO!!!!!!  Just found my first spikes on a Catasetum!! And I found TWO!!! It's on Catasetum pileatum V. Imperial 'Pierre Couret' HCC/AOS
Can't wait for flowers!!!!!

Great. Hopefully one stem has male and the other one female flowers. It is a strong plant. Ctsm. imperiale is often regarded as a species of its own separated from pileatum (while some people said the red colour is influence of macrocarpum).
Pierre Couret was the director of the Montreal Botanical Garden in Canada. He travelled through Venezuela to bring the red "pileatum" back into culture. This clone was named in his honour (if my memories are right).
