Great. Hopefully one stem has male and the other one female flowers. It is a strong plant. Ctsm. imperiale is often regarded as a species of its own separated from pileatum (while some people said the red colour is influence of macrocarpum).
Pierre Couret was the director of the Montreal Botanical Garden in Canada. He travelled through Venezuela to bring the red "pileatum" back into culture. This clone was named in his honour (if my memories are right).
Please post photos of the flowers later, Bob.

Well done! I have just bought a Coryanthes today so I hope that I shall soon have some spikes myself!

Congratulations. It's always so exciting to have a spike coming (wether it's the first one or not). Please, keep us posted on it's progress.

Thanks all! Hopefully it puts on a great show, because it's a nice large and mature plant
