Recently there has been another thread on this beautiful Clowesia here. It is a plant that we seldom see, so I decided to put up mine too. I purchased it from Orquivalle, and it's the first time it blooms for me. One spike with buds, the other one with 9 flowers open, that emit an intense lemon scent. Flower size 2 centimeters.
I don't keep a harsh water restriction in dormancy. I give a little bit of water about two times more often than for my other clowesias and catasetums. I am convinced that this species does better this way. But its far from being kept wet.
The plant size is significant smaller than many catasetums and Clowesia russelliana or dodsoniana, about the same as rosea.
Your plant looks very healthy! Good to see someone who 'dares' watering a Clowesia in winter
Many more flowers to come !
When I see those pseudobulbs, I think I am going to give mine a little water next winter, because now mine look like dry prunes...
