Cycnoches Golden Showers
A cross made of Cycnoches herrenhusanum (sect. Heteranthae) x Cycnoches chlorochilon (sect. Eucycnoches). To me the result is eye candy.

Do you think whoever named this knew? LOL
(If you don't know, and don't want to know, you might prefer not to put 'golden showers' into google)

There is an Oncidium Golden Showers, an Cymbidium Golden Showers, a Phalaenopsis Golden Showers, so I didn't rack my brains over the name of this cross until today.
The name was given to this cross by H&R nurseries in Hawaii, registered 22/11/2004. H&R stands for Harry Akagi and Roy Tokunaga. Some of you may know Roy as an AOS judge. He is a very experimented orchid hybridizer. In the H&R nurseries thread in this board the nurseries are described as immaculate by OrchidThief79.
Okay, now I know what Golden Showers can be and I'll avoid to stand under the flower spike. At least the smell of the flowers doesn't fit for that special name. Eventually Roy had a a weak spot for Frank Zappa and Bobby Brown.
And for me, I'll may be suffering from orchidophilia, but that's enough of paraphilia.

LOL! Yes, especially if you've just given it a drink...
I used to have a Mills and Boon book called 'Golden Showers'. Sure they didn't know... For anyone who doesn't know, Mills and Boon are pulp soft romances, nothing 'nasty' at all. Not my kind of book, I just had it for the funny title!
