Default Cycnoches warscewiczii, virus.

It is sad that this plant is infected with Cymbidium Mosaic Virus. I will destroy it as soon as it finishes flowering. My Cyc. chlorochilon also tested positive for CymMV and has been destroyed, also a Cyc. pentadactylon. Of the 15 of my catasetinae that I have tested, 5 have been positive for either CymMV or ORSV.

Has anyone else been testing their catasetinae for CymMV and ORSV? Does anyone have a Cyc. warscewiczii, chlorochilon or pentadactylon that tests free of ORSV and CymMV?

Looks great. Too bad about the virus though.

Beautiful blooms. If you don't plan on breeding with it or giving pieces away, why not keep the plant?

Because the CymMV could spread to my other 160 plants. Viruses can spread via insect vectors as well as from cutting tools etc.
