Default Gongora tricolor Husbandry

Hello everyone,

I have a few questions about my Gongora tricolor. How should I care for it properly? Also, would the plant be fine with only three pseudobulbs with leaves on them (the rest, about 15, have no leaves on them). Any info would be gladly appreciated.

Here is a picture of the plant

Thanks!

I think it should be fine, those leaves and bulbs look healthy enough! I tend to keep this type in the house with controlled temperatures and don't let it experience anything over 90F. It does go outside though when weather permits. I'm rather new to this type as well so would love to hear more from others.

Your plant looks very healthy and should be putting out new growths for a long time. Just give it medium bright light with dappled sun and no direct midday sun. When actively growing, they like tons of water and can take more fertilizer than most other orchids. Don't let it dry out completely, but don't keep it sopping wet either. When not actively growing, reduce its watering quite a bit. You can let it dry out a bit more during this time.

They definitely do not like heat. In the wild they're at 500 meters plus. 86 degrees on an odd day.76 to 82 most days.
They grow high up in the wind and in dappled sun.
Like most orchids, mounted is best.
