Really cool-looking bloom, Brenda. And yes, it's a bit obscene, as if Mother Nature went out for a night of hard drinking, let her guard down a bit and was briefly inspired by Robert Mapplethorpe. Do the flowers have any scent?

Very nice species... They normally grow associated with ants in Venezuela under quite warm and humid conditions... And yes, Coryanthes flowers can look very obscene... That was an ongoing joke my grandma used to do about these orchids in my collection in Venezuela!
