That's very kind of you, Camille...I should have timed the watering as soon as the plant was at least 3 to 5 inches tall...I forgot it for a month after winter rest...it was already large and spiking when I started to water it

I still wouldn't really call it neglect. It's an orchid meant to be forgotten, you just forgot it a bit longer than you're supposed to. The big fat older bulb took care of keeping the new growth happy.

Thanks, nenella...you should get one of these...its a pretty plant with its wide large spreading green leaves then it loses all of it for winter ... keep it in a cool place and dont water it...before you know it there is a new plant with spike!
