I got one Galeandra too, im not sure if its claesii or schunkii, or another one. Ive some photos in the forum, but ill post some new photos of her third bloom of the season. Mine its a litle bit fragrant, like sweet parfum. Are you re sure yours its not?? Even if you're close to the flower?

I received two plants from Vitorino P Castro (one of the two authors who described the species) and both bloomed without fragrance... I was surprised as I had Galeandras in Venezuela and they all were fragrant (not always nice, but fragrant!)... Also my Galeandra minax, that I received from Vitorino at the same time bloomed without any fragrance.... Maybe a result of plants blooming just after being imported or any oth kind of stress... I think I must wait for a second bloom and check again....

Nenella, try growing them like Catasetum... This is a very interesting genus... Beware of mites! Spider mites love them as well!

Hi Ramon,

Do you have plants from Vitorino Castro, what a pleasure, and treasure. You should treat them like a princess should be treated.
About the fragrance issue maybe its a stress caused by the transport as you said, or diferent growing conditions.

One thing Ive notice, mine and yours bloom in the same period, but you re in france I guess, and I'm living in Brazil, here its winter and in France its almost summer, Im confused. They bloom several times a year?
