Default Stanhopea bueraremensis

This species of Stanhopea was described recently, and came from the city of Buerarema in the State of Bahia. The perfume is something chemical, remembering new plastic, or rubber

Fred,
Can you tell us a bit more about this species? What other species is it closely related to? I know that I have also seen you describe the scent of another Stan species as very 'chemical' like as well. I think it was one of the primitive Stans though. Thanks!

Hi Steve,

Look at this "old" post: http://www.orchidboard.com/community...aremensis.html
At that time I was not sure if that plant (in the old post) was the bueraremensis or not. Now with the flowering of a bueraremensis positively identified (in this post, with differences only in relation to the color) I can already say with certainty that both are bueraremensis (perfume is the same in both). Incidentally,my first buerarmensis is in spike now, and I'll post the pics soon!

Lovely. I´ve never heard of this one before. Looks a bit like Stanhopea florida.
