I should have gotten the mini instead of the full sized Gramma...now I just have to deal with the plant in feet instead of just inches...

I would say that there is just a little bit of a difference in the sizes of the two plants.

Nice! Just like others in previous posts, my full sized scriptum (var citrinum) spikes were about 5' long. I never got the miniature version because I had the full size one. Now I wish I had the small one!! I can't believe you got that many spikes last year either. Great growing! I would get all mine in one flush, which was nice, but I'll take smaller, year round blooms anytime! lol

Actually, Steve, Grammatophyllums are in the Catasetinae alliance and there are intergeneric hybrids between them.
GRAMMATOPHYLLUM (Gram.) = Natural genus
× Catasetum × Clowesia × Cymbidium . . . . . . . . . . . . = Kalakauara
× Catasetum × Cymbidium . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . = Thompsonara
× Clowesia × Mormodes . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . = Clomophyllum
× Cycnoches . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . = Cycnophyllum
