Cycnoches warscewiczii first bloom seedling
I bought this Cyc warscewiczii ('SVO ll' AM/AOS X 'SVO' AM/AOS) from Fred Clarke at Sun Valley Orchids. It decided not to go into dormancy and bloom for the first time. It's only one flower but it's nice and the scent is heavenly. The rest of my Catasetinae are already coming out of dormancy and this little bugger is bloomer. In every family there is always one child who is the problem child. I think I have found mine.

My Cycnoches warscewiczii is still in dormant stage and I dare not water it until it shows me something...anything...a growth or bloom...
Your plant is awesome...a solitary bloom ahead of its time...oh well you are in Florida so it thinks it spring already

Bud the spike didn't start until almost the end of December, no sign of spring there. Everything else was heading into or already in dormancy

Very nice. And one of the best orchid fragrances I've smelled. Odd that it didn't go dormant--but now that's it's flowered, perhaps it will (but hopefully it will be a very brief dormancy since now's the time of year when you can expect to start seeing this species coming OUT of its dormancy). Congrats on the blooms. They're awesome.
