Default Stanhopea oculata

This was one of the first two Stanhopea species that I obtained (along with one Stan lietzei) there is over (much over!) twenty years. Supposedly both were collected by a Japanese fisherman in the region of the county of Registro (State of São Paulo, Brazil). If the origin of the plant is proven correct, it is probably Stanhopea minor, described by Schlechter to Brazil in 1917. Happy Mardi Gras to all!

Fabulous! I am always fascinated by Stanhopea blooms. I love that you have had this plant so long!

Hi friends! There are another spikes in the other side of the basket, but this year the bloom was not the best for this Stan. I have a lychee tree that is shading my orchids too much, I'll need to cut some branches. I have made many divisions of this orchid over time (for Brazilian friends), otherwise the size of it would be impractical.
