Thanks, ingse. It makes me happy to see that there are crazy people out there who grow coryanthes, catasetum and Gongora in Norway. You must be a mad dog. As the key to success with Catasetum is warm to hot temperature and my plants suffered over the winter in my greenhouse, I now moved them to the basement. Here they stand close to big tanks with warm water for the heating plant and water supply. Under artifical light there are 28 degrees Celsius, on the floor in this room 22,7 C degrees.
It is good to see people trying the impossible and growing hot orchids in cold places.

There is a few other "mad dogs" here as well , so i am not totally alone trying to grow tropical orchids in Norway.
I have a few catasetinas. Some are now hibernating, but about 15 of them have started to grow new bulbs at the moment, so i think it is possible to grow them a bit cooler than recomended.
I know it would be best to grow them warmer, but i have no basement to move them to.

hi Ingse, do you have a pic when the flower is in full bloom. just wondering because an expansum would have the labellum curl backwards rather than a cup shape labellum.
nice color!!

The flowers will not open further because i knocked over the flowerpot last night. Every flower lost their pollina so they have started to wither .
There is two new growths , but i do not know if its new bulbs or new inflorescences, but hopefully the flowers will be perfect the next time.

sorry to hear about the incident, if your lead bulb is still immature, high chances your will be having new spike developing.

It is flowering now with six flowers.

The flowers did not open any more than last time and i might be doing something wrong, but i do not know what it could be.
I discovered today that it has a faint smell of licorice and i cant stop smelling it
