Stanhopea tigrina peloric Male
Default

Isirus79;
Hello, and I hope that the reason that Frederico has not been active is not related to his health.
A local Brazilian friend of mine has said that he knew somebody in Brazil who also had a peloric Stanhopea, so that person might be Fred. I was advised that I should expect to hear from this party, but have not.
Since then, Troy Meyers advised me that there are about 225 seedlings in flask expected to be available from a selfing of my peloric Stanhopea tigrina. This was not a one-shot wonder, for out of 4 or 5 inflorescences, all have had peloric blooms.
Other peloric Stanhopeas I know of include the original Quirky Queen by Doug Pulley, and Sherwood's Folly, by Troy Meyers.
If you know Stanhopea species collectors in your area, I could be interested in speaking to them or otherwise corresponding. Most of my plants are in a recovery phase after moving and drying very badly (lost a few), but the new small greenhouse is now getting automated, and we should be able to travel again without losing plants.
Do you have any specialty in type of orchids?
Best regards,
Paul Reeve
