Clowesetum NOID
This is a first bloom for this one, took 3 years but it came as a small backbulb. I got it second hand from Gene Monnier's close out sale. Any help with the ID would be appreciated ! The pbulb that bloomed is 11" and the plant is 25" tall.

Thanks that's very close, Bud, and could be but mine's more white and its beard is more irregular. Don't know why I asked about ID because IDing by photo is usually impossible unless every attribute of the bloom AND plant is exactly the same and at the very best is only a guess !

That one looks great. I assumed the Clowesia influence would make the plant smaller, but I guess not! lol

Steve - it depends on which species we are talking about. rosea has small bulbs but russelliana and dodsoniana can be really huge.

Ok, good to know. I've only seen rosea in real life and the others only in pics.

Ctsm. roseo-album
Glen, which rosea are you talking about ? I have the Ctsm. roseo-album which I think either is a synonym or has a synonym. For such VERY DIFFERENT and VERY SMALL blooms it's a HUGE plant !!! The homemade pot is 9"tall in the pix. If I remember, the blooms are the size of a thumb !
