High Season for Catasetinae in Riedisheim

Catasetum Penang 'Capanaparo'
First time blooming... the Clonal name is given because it looks very similar to the Catasetum pileatum found near the Capanaparo River in Venezuela

Cstm. schmidtianum x Orchidglade. Unregistered hybrid with (IMO) very interesting flowers.

Cycnoches sp. Especies from Panama, purchased as Cycnoches aureum, but I think it is probably Cycnoches powellii or a variation of Cycnoches guttulatum. Flowers are twice bigger than those of my other Cycnoches guttulatum and lighter in color.

Now you're talking my language, Ramon !!! And your opinion is correct about the Ctsm. schmidtianum x Orchidglade, it's VERY interesting !!! The Penang, I'm told, is extremely variable. I have one that hasn't bloomed for me yet but it's a red one !!! I'll post the pix when it does, probably next season as it's a small plant.

that's true... even though you have only two species involved, both are very variable species. as well, Penang is a pretty complex hybrid.
it is basically: (((expansum x pileatum) x expansum) x pileatum)

Ramon - Love the Cycnoches species regardless of what it is or isn't. I find it interesteting how dominant for shape the Ctsm schmidtianum is, it looks like all the Orchidglade did was increase the size of the lip a bit and unfortunately did away with the fringe on the lip. All that is good to know from a hybridizers point of view. And as always, your photos are wonderful.

That Penang is absolutely stunning! Both the color and shape are just perfect! Both of the other plants are also great, but I just keep going back and looking at the Penang pics over and over again.
